I am lloking for "steam punk"ish style buttons, but they have to be SMALL, no bigger than 7mm to 9mm. Any thoughts, my random searching online give WAY to many useless things to look through. |

I'm looking to do a new top for this skirt

I'd really love to go a more formal direction. The corset has to be retired as it's too big (if you're in the upper 40" and are interested in buying it let me know. It's an awesome piece by damseldress.com and I only wore it that one time pictured.) So for that I know I can wear shorter sleeves and a lower neckline. Any ideas on this?
I also have an issue with a daytime dress. It's a long bustled walking skirt in a rather durable fabric. "Lucy" travels with an air ship and has never been debuted since she's a bit crazy, but I'm unsure about baring any skin. It's so very hot in Georgia's September though and I plan on wearing this to the DragonCon parade. How do you ladies and gentlemen of the steam feel about this?
Thanks!
Miss Lucy Kelvin (Sarah) |

ATTENTION CANADIAN STEAMERS
When you're in Zellers, check out the jewelry counter. Zellers is now heavily discounting their old watches and these include a pretty spiffy 1928 line.
I picked up this baby - a lovely watch pendant (from 49 bucks to 12.99!) You could also arrange it in a fob-like fashion at your waist; or detach the watch altogether and pin it to your shirt. They also had a pink and a gold jewel encrusted version. Charming for that Steamy Librarian look which is a fav of mine. |

| How do I make Bustle |
[Jul. 19th, 2009|11:06 am] |
I want to make a 'bustle' in more a draped farbic way. Which will sit over a skirt, but there will be no support from a bum pad or wired underskirt. I hope that makes sense!
Does anyone have any photos, pattern ideas, advise on making such a bustle? Or should I just experiment?
I have a limited amount of my prefered fabric (About 42inches by maybe 20inches), but can add more in a matching fabric pattern, say for udner pieces.
This is to be worn with a victorian style otufit, but I am not too bothered on period matching as long as i like the outcome :)

One of these days, I'll post an actual steampunk outfit of mine I promise! >_< But for now, I'm jotting down my outfit ideas onto my characters for my steampunk comic. Here are the 2 I've drawn since Minerva and Ophelia. ( Two steamy men right this way... )

| Stained glass bags |
[Jul. 18th, 2009|09:47 pm] |
Because the squid shirt was so popular I decided to try something a little different and came up with these neat bags with faux stained glass patches. I think thy look cool and are a simple way to show your love of steampunk without going all out. Click on each picture for a link to my esty for details.
The boiler heart bag

The vine and gear

Oscar the squid

And a not very steampunk but cute little robot.
